Jasmine You, you were such an inspiration to me.
The loveliness and elegance that you possessed at all times...
The little that I knew of your personality; funny, quirky, thoughtful, and unique...
You are a person that truly can't be replaced.
Though I only got to meet you briefly, you impacted me so much, and I'm so thankful for the few moments I had.
I will never forget my excitement as you grasped my hand gently in both of yours and I looked at your eyes...bloodshot from upper and lower eyelashes, contacts, gems, glitter, and weariness, but smiling back at me nonetheless.
I know it sounds silly, but to me it made you seem like such a strong and extraordinary person.
The impression that I got of you was that you aimed to not only bring beauty into the world, but tried to find the beauty in all things.
There's never been a person that I thought so highly of I wanted to emulate, and I will always admire and remember you, not just for being a great musician, but for being a beautiful person.
Like the gift I gave you, when you tried to understand what I was saying and we both nervously looked at each other for a moment before giving a resigned but amused smile, I hope we will meet again someday to share blossoming Jasmine tea and laugh about that day.

I used to wonder at people having reoccurring dreams...
Because mine are always so vivid and unique.
But I realized I have this one dream that I always have.
The setting is always different, but it's always exactly the same idea.
I'm faced with having someone, or a group of people, who I look up to in close range.
It's usually whatever band I'm most into at the time ^.^;
So last night my favorite band was staying at my place...
And by "my place" I mean the apartment I grew up in that I haven't lived in for 12 years.
{Yeah, that happens a lot too}
I was in the master bedroom looking at a disc of pictures they had up on my lap top and getting ready.
Only I got ready and when my hair dried it was too light.
{I had dreadlocks for some reason, very ugly, splotchy, yellow ones.}
So I wet it down again and when it dried it was short, but all one color.
It was the style like when I'd first cut off my dreads in real life.
I still wasn't very happy with it but I didn't want to keep them waiting any longer.
Before going out to the living room I went back to my lap top and copied the pictures from the disc to my hard drive...secretly?
Then I woke up.

I know it all means something, but I'm tired of those dreams.
I'm tired of the dreams that put everything just inches from my reach and then snap me back to reality before I can grab a hold of it.
Those always seem to follow me whether unconscious or awake.
I know one thing though...
The fact that I'm not ready in the dream is trying to tell me I'm not ready in real life.
And FUCK that.
I was born ready.

I've started making a lot of entries friends only, so if you want to see them you'll have to add me.
If I haven't added you back yet just yell at me (^▽^;)

I do this thing about once every couple of years where I try to eat oatmeal.
I think, "I like oatmeal cookies, I like oatmeal granola bars, I like so many oatmeal things, surely I must like oatmeal!"
Then I eat it and I'm like "BLECH!!! DNW!"
So I'm going to play that game today.

Having my baking experiments turn out well gives me a renewed feeling of self worth as a woman.
I'm an amazing, devoted, skilled, and frickin' hot woman, and I think believing and knowing that is such an accomplishment in and of itself.
It took a very long time to get to this point, and several batches of crunchy hot messes later...
I am the master of the fluffy.
